Prenatal Comfort Massage

Pillows for your bump. A whole hour for mummy.

RM108first session · 60 minutes

Pregnancy massage · from 14 weeks

The baby list keeps growing. So does the advice, most of it unasked for. Between work, check-ups and planning the nursery in your head at 2am, you're carrying a lot more than the bump. For this hour, all of that waits outside.

Your hour

You lie on your side, supported by pillows, never flat on your belly. Your therapist works slowly through your lower back, hips, legs and feet, where pregnancy sits heaviest. The pressure stays gentle and she checks in as she goes. Chat if you like. Doze if you'd rather.

Good to know

From 14 weeks pregnant. If your doctor has said your pregnancy is high-risk, just bring their go-ahead along.

Fourth Trimester Massage

Everyone asks about baby. We'd like to ask about you.

RM118first session · 60 minutes

Postnatal massage after delivery · day 28 to 90

You've learned to eat with one hand and remember which side baby fed from last. Your nights come in little pieces. But how are you, mama? Here, someone actually waits for the answer.

Your hour

A gentle full-body massage with extra time on your neck, shoulders and upper back, the places that carry every feed and every rock to sleep. Your body is still settling after birth, so the pressure stays soft and she adjusts it with you.

Good to know

For mums from day 28 to day 90 after delivery, normal or C-section. Some call it a postpartum massage. After a C-section we leave your tummy alone until the scar has fully healed.

Book my hour

Confinement looks after your first month. Then it's your turn.

The first weeks are full of visits, advice and someone checking whether you've eaten. Then the visits slow down, but the feeds and the rocking carry on, and baby gets heavier every week. Every family's confinement looks different, so the Fourth Trimester Massage is open from day 28 to day 90. Come whenever yours ends. Arrange for someone to stay with baby, and take an hour where someone asks how you're doing and actually waits for the answer.

The fourth trimester is the first three months after birth.

The Westwood Signature

One hour of not being the person everyone needs.

RM118first session · 60 minutes

Medium pressure · warm oil and towels

At work, you're the one who remembers. At home, you're the one who knows where everything is. Even lunch comes with a question attached. For one hour, put all of that down.

Your hour

Warm oil, warm towels and a private room with the door closed. Medium pressure through your back, neck and shoulders, then your arms and legs. Point to where it's tight and she'll stay there longer.

Good to know

First massage in a while? Start at medium and tell her if you want it firmer or softer. She'd much rather you say so than lie there being polite.

Westwood Lymphatic Flow

For the weeks your legs carry everything.

RM138first session · 60 minutes

Lymphatic massage · light, slow strokes

Eight hours at a desk. Or eight hours on your feet behind a counter. Or a 7am flight and a meeting straight after landing. By Friday your shoes feel tight at the ankle and your legs feel twice their weight. This is the hour for that.

Your hour

It's a lymphatic massage, and it starts at your feet, slowly. Long, light, rhythmic strokes travel up from your ankles through your calves and thighs, and later around your neck and collarbone. It's the lightest touch of anything we do here, on purpose. After that she warms your back and shoulders with oil and steadier pressure, so you leave loose as well as light.

How it feels different

Most massages go looking for knots and press into them. This one hardly presses at all for the first half hour. It moves, slow and even, in one direction. Some people find it so quiet they drift off.

Good to know

Please skip this one if you're pregnant (Prenatal Comfort is the one for you), or if you have a blood clot, a heart or kidney condition, an infection or a fever.

Meet Kak Rita

She'll start by listening.

More than 20 years of massage experience, and she's happy in English or Bahasa Malaysia. Before anything else, she'll ask how you're feeling and how much pressure you like. Want a quiet hour? Just say so. From one woman to another, there's no need to make small talk to be polite.

Little questions

Is it private?

Completely. You have your own room with the door closed, and you stay covered except where she's working.

What should I know before a prenatal session?

We start from 14 weeks, you lie on your side with pillows, and the pressure stays gentle. If your pregnancy is high-risk, bring your doctor's go-ahead. We'll also check a few details with you before we confirm.

Can baby come along?

The rooms are set up just for you, so plan for someone to look after baby while you're here. Allow a little time before and after your hour so nothing feels rushed.

Is there a doctor around?

Westwood PJ Midtown is a clinic, so a doctor is on site. Your massage is with your therapist, and if you'd like a quick word with the doctor, just ask.

How long does it take?

Your massage is 60 minutes, and there's no rush afterwards. Take your time getting ready.

What should I bring?

Just yourself. The towels, the warm oil and the quiet are on us.

When do I pay?

At your visit. There's nothing to pay when you send your request.

Where do I park?

There's paid parking in the building, so you can come straight up.

When will I hear back?

We reply between 10am and 7pm, every day. Send your request tonight and we'll be in touch tomorrow morning.
